“Success is not final;
failure is not fatal:
It’s the courage to continue that counts.”
We are so focused on success and watching others succeed that we often forget about our wins no matter how small we perceive then to be.
Failure for me is just another word for lessons learnt.
Every “failure” is a learning moment.
We choose whether or not we get up and keep going or whether we stay down. Choosing to get up and move forward takes courage and strength. It is often doing the work that nobody sees that is the hardest yet that will move us to where we want to be. A lesson that I try to teach my kids. Watching me fall and get up , fall and get up and keep going is priceless . As much as we would love life to be a straight line, it is not, it has its curves and spins and how we deal with those will shape us into courageous and strong humans.
The worst thing we can do is compare ourselves to others. We do not know where in the journey of life they are and how far they have come to get to that points. Our journey is OUR journey and no one else’s.
Courage means stepping outside of your comfort zone.
Courage means doing things that scare you.
Courage means falling down and getting up time after time.
Courage means making mistakes .
Success means getting up when you fall down.
Success means learning from your mistakes.
Success means pushing through your fears.
Success means embracing who you are flaws and all.
Michael Jordan famously stated that in his career he missed 9000 shots and lost 300n games! Steven Spielberg suffered from dyslexia and was was rejected TWICE by the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.Albert Einstein did not start reading until he was 7!Jerry Seinfeld was booed off stage many times! But what all these incredible people have in common is that they ‘failed’ multiple times yet kept going and going. Believing in themselves and their vision.
Next time you fall down just remember as Elbert Hubbard so aptly stated ” There is no failure except in no longer trying.”
