Chocolate Date Torte

When I found thisĀ chocolate walnut and date torte, it reminded me of a pavlova! Who doesn't love a good Pav?! I substituted the walnuts with pecans and it only consists of 5 ingredients! It has become one of Hubby's new favourite desserts!

Equipment

  • 1 beaters or mix master to whip egg whites
  • 1 round 9" cake tin Lined with parchment paper

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g Chopped dates
  • 200 g Good quality dark chocolate, chopped
  • 200 g Walnuts or pecans chopped
  • 200 g Monk Fruit Sweetener
  • 6 Egg whites

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 170c/340f
    Beat egg whites until foamy.
    Gradually add sugar until mixture becomes glossy and meringue like.
    Gently fold in nuts, dates and chocolate.
    Place mixture in tin.
    Bake for 1-1/14 hours depending on your oven.
    Cool and serve.
